After some deliberation on my part and a bit of prodding from trusted friends and mentors, I rejoined Toastmasters International recently.  My hesitation was more from having a busy schedule than anything else, but now I am glad that I made the time to get involved again.  My first meeting back had me diving in just about where I had left off, fulfilling a role and participating in the Table Topics.  (more…)

Along the same lines as my previous articles on DJ pricing, a good friend of mine that is a professional DJ in Florida posted a great article on his blog recently.  He made a lot of great points about school dances, so I asked for permission to use it on my blog, just paraphrased to apply to wedding entertainment.  If you like good, solid reasoning, you will love this article!  (more…)

Anyone that has known me for any length of time knows that I am a firm believer in continuing education, personal development and actively belonging to trade organizations.  The reasons are many and may be obvious to some, however there are always some who want to know why or simply do not care.  But I am not here to debate that, rather I am offering it as information so that you can make an informed choice when looking to book entertainment for your special event.

In February 2009, I had the pleasure to attend the Mobile Beat Las Vegas Convention for Mobile DJs.  Being one of the two major conventions held for DJs each year, I was looking forward to attending to learn as well as promoting my newest book that I wrote for the DJ Industry.  But the biggest thing I was looking forward to was attending the MarBecca Method – Master of Ceremonies Workshop.  (more…)
